The best self-emptying robot vacuum comes with a base that holds one month's worth of debris and automatically empty. It also creates a detailed map of your home and allows you to label rooms and establish "no-go" zones.

Roomba s9+ iRobot from iRobot
This robot is a premium model from iRobot and it performs very well. It can easily maneuver across a variety of surfaces and is extremely efficient at sucking up dirt, dust, and debris. It is also extremely well-constructed and looks fantastic too.
The S9 is the most recent model of iRobot's top S Series line of robot vacuums. As such, it comes with many additional features that differentiate it from lesser models. The iRobot App, for example, use the camera to create maps that assists the robot to navigate and clean more efficiently.
It can also automatically return to the location where it left off if its battery runs low during the cleaning process which means you don't have to re-clean the same areas. You can start and stop cleaning using a voice command, or via the iRobot App. This smart vacuum can also clean in the dark!
Another feature that is great is Carpet Boost, which gives the S9 an extra suction force when it encounters carpeting to collect more dirt and debris. This unit also uses an elongated front design that gets closer to walls and corners as opposed to the earlier round designs. This model is not compatible well with shag or high-pile carpeting.
In our tests we discovered that the iRobot S9+ cleans thoroughly and efficiently on a variety of flooring surfaces, ranging from medium-pile to hard carpets and rugs. It also did well on vinyl flooring, and laminate flooring. It did a great job of navigating furniture and objects, but it had issues with stairs, and might accidentally hit bookcases.
The S9's capability to automatically return to its base and empty its dust bin once it is full was an excellent feature. It reduced the requirement for manual maintenance. Its dust bag is expected to last for about 30 loads, which is about a month or two, and you'll have to replace the filter once every so often (which is actually recommended by iRobot). The iRobot S9+ is not very loud when it's in use making it a great choice for families with children or pets.

One of the best features on the X8 Hybrid is that you can control the mop or vacuum with your voice thanks to integration with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. This is a nice touch that makes the robot more hands-free. And it is very effective in our test house.
Like many robotic vacuums, the X8 Hybrid has some issues with bare floors. It is prone to miss fur and small items and can cause bumps to objects like its charger on the charging platform. It's also not as quiet as some other models we've tried, and the whirring noise can be distracting.

This robot doesn't have the same number of features as the more expensive models we've tested, but it does cover the basics. It has a large enough dust bin to hold a lot of dirt before it's empty, and its vacuum and mop system is perfect for carpets with low pile and hard floors. It is also very quiet. We were able to watch TV while it cleaned without feeling as though we were being bombarded with noise.
Our test subjects were impressed with how easy it was to set up and use, and were amazed by its ability to take all the messes off their flooring. It also cleaning robots did a good job at removing pet hair and messes from carpeting, but it was less successful in tackling stubborn stuck-on staining. The app was simple to use and easy to understand. They were able set up the vacuum to clean regularly to minimize the amount of manual work. It doesn't include the ability to avoid objects or map technology, which means it cannot be used to send specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundaries can be used).
Another model from the iRobot's budget line, the V3S Pro has some impressive features for the price. It topped all other robot vacuums we tested in terms of the ability to avoid obstacles and map them, and it's the best budget pick for those looking for an intelligent self-emptying robot vacuum that can take care of pet hair and messes on hardwood floors and low-pile carpeting. It's also super quiet and has a large dust bin that holds a lot of debris before it has to empty and you don't have to be concerned about having to empty it every time you use it.
The V3S Pro did not make it onto our top choice lists of trusted sources who test hands-on, but it received high marks from Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. The V3S Pro was simple to use and set up, but the battery life was not long.
